For a family-friendly celebration, try the annual July 4th Fireworks festival in Studio City. Enjoy the festival’s gourmet food, car show, local business expos, magicians, and live entertainment. The children’s section includes face painting, caricature artists, air-brushed tattoos, and photo ops with Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam. End the night by watching the fireworks shows from CBS Studios’ rooftops while enjoying gorgeous vistas of the city.

It doesn’t get any more American than combining baseball and fireworks. On the 4th, the Dodgers will play the Arizona Diamond backs at Dodgers Stadium. For music lovers, the Hollywood Bowl’s 4th of July Show is not to be missed. This year, Grammy Award-winning acapella group Pentatonix will perform arrangements of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Daft Punk” and more. Although guests usually bring their own picnic, concessions are also for sale at the venue. The fireworks show after the performance is also one of the most beautiful in Los Angeles.

The Pacific Palisades 4th of July Parade is a favorite among locals who prefer to celebrate outdoors. Beginning on Sunset Blvd. between Via De La Paz St. and Drummond St., the parade route will end in the Palisades Recreation center. The parade will commence with skydivers and feature everything from marching bands, baton twirlers, and patriotic floats.

For those in the DTLA area, Grand Park’s 4th of July Block Party is an annual tradition. Complete with plenty of food truck are, live musical performances, family-friendly activities and more, the block party is DTLA’s largest celebration.
